Justin has focused the last 19 years of his career on investing in technology. He is currently the Head of the Investment Team and has led Cove Hill's technology investment efforts since its founding.
Prior to co-founding Cove Hill, Justin was a Partner at General Catalyst Partners (“GC”) where he co-led the later stage investing team. In addition to his investment and portfolio leadership, Justin also co-led the later-stage sourcing team at GC utilizing technology to drive efficiency and built infrastructure to train Associates and Vice Presidents.
Prior to General Catalyst, Justin was a Vice President and Principal with Thomas H. Lee Partners in the Media, Information Services, and Technology group. He also ran the associate training and recruiting program.
Prior to THL, Justin was an Associate in the technology, media, and telecom group at TA Associates. Justin also worked as an Analyst for Coatue and Banc of America Securities in the technology groups.
When Justin is not in the office, he enjoys adventures with his wife and two sons and a wide range of outdoor activities including running, skiing, rafting and climbing. He is also a proud North Carolina Tar Heel fan. For over a decade, Mr. Roberts served as treasurer and finance committee chair for Prospect Hill Academy, one of the top-ranked schools in the country for helping diverse and low-income students achieve their dream of attending college.

What is your favorite Cove and Hill to travel to?
Cove (beach): Bald head island (BHI) – not just because it’s a great hairstyle (mine) but because I went every year as a child and loved it! It has no cars, beautiful beaches, and lots of nature! Hard to not love the place.
What do you do in your free time outside of work?
I spend a lot of time with my awesome wife (we met freshman year of college) and my 2 kids.
Who is your biggest inspiration?
This one is easy! My mom. She had a remarkably successful career AND was a terrific mom and wife. She figured out how to be great at both work and family. I aspire to this goal!

Justin graduated from University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in economics and biology, cum laude and from Harvard Business School with an M.B.A.
