Background
Theo is an accomplished Technology Executive with proven global leadership experience in PE & public companies. Over his nearly 30-year career, Theo has built complex technological ecosystems and scaled international product organizations and processes while leading product development, product management, user experience design, DevOps, cloud operations, and InfoSec.
Before joining Cove Hill, Theo held various leadership, board, and advisory positions at SaaS software businesses spanning Insurance (Vertafore), Public Safety (TriTech), Procurement (Jaggaer), and Life Sciences (Bioclinica), where he helped execute successful business model transitions and built ecosystems and scaled global product organizations.
Theo is a native of South Africa and resides on the Puget Sound. He likes to spend his time outdoors in the mountains, hiking, fly fishing, skiing, and mountain biking.

What is your favorite thing to cook to impress guests?
I love Bolognese (with spaghetti or bucatini), and my all-time favorite recipe is Marcella Hazan’s bolognese sauce. I call it my 20,000-step recipe since it takes 5-hours to make. 

What is the best vacation you’ve ever taken?
Some of the best vacations I have taken took place outdoors in very scenic places (New Zealand, Cape Town, British Columbia, Raja Ampat), however, I think Iceland is one of the most unique and wonderful places I visited. It had incredible hiking, black sand beaches, glaciers, ice caves, hot springs, epic waterfalls, and spectacular scenery.

What is your favorite movie of all time
2001 Space Odyssey by Stanley Kubrick (based on the book by Arthur C. Clarke). Even though the movie was released in 1968, it has aged well and I rewatch it every few years.

Theo graduated from the Tshwane University of Technology in Pretoria, South Africa, with two degrees in computer science.
